When I first purchased this unit I was impressed at how easily it came out of the packaging and was easy to set up. The Café Mattino comes with everything you need but the ground coffee and the water. I personally was looking for the plastic taste that other users had described, but then determined because I followed the directions of running 3 brew cycles with just water through I had lessened that problem.
The timer feature is great, set up the coffee in the included nylon mesh filter, fill the tank and set the timer, it doesn’t get any easier than that, you wake up to a fresh hot pot of coffee. It makes 12 cups of coffee and is great for company or enjoying coffee for hours, the warmer will see to that.
The brew time is reasonable based on it heats the water to brew and if you use the timer you will probably never need to suffer the brewing time. After using it for a few months I cracked the carafe during a normal wash-up and I was able to replace via the manufacturer Morphy Richards, but it was almost as expensive as a new unit and if I break this one I will probably buy a new unit and have a spare brewer.

The Café Mattino makes a great cup of coffee. My personal preference is to use paper filters because I use a finer grind coffee and the nylon filter lets the finer grind through into the carafe. This unit looks great in the kitchen with its smooth stainless finish and because it has the timer feature there is a clock on the front as well. Filling the water into the fresh water container presented a bit of a challenge at first as the inlet is rather narrow and was designed for filling slowly with the provided pitcher. The filling aside, this is a delightful unit that makes and keeps a great pot of coffee.
It is perfect for the large coffee drinker or the entertainer reliably making 12 cups of well brewed coffee every time. The overall dimensions of 23cmx 23cm x 36cm allows it to reside in all but the smallest of kitchens and even if you couldn’t slide it away under a cabinet you will still find space for it in your kitchen.
In short the Café Mattino 47070 By Morphy Richard is a great unit for the couple to share their morning coffee, after dinner coffee with friends. When buying this unit if you like a little stronger coffee like I do and use a fine grind I would consider using paper filters instead of the provided nylon filter, the paper filter s are available at grocers or department stores. This unit is a must buy for any coffee enthusiast.
