Breville Duo Temp Pro – Entry Level Quality
If you’re looking for a quality espresso machine, and don’t mind trialling your at home barista skills, then the Breville Duo Temp Pro Espresso Coffee Machine could be the best choice. Priced at under $500 it has one of the more compact footprints of the 4 machines.
The electronic PID integrated temperature control keeps the taste of your coffee balanced by stabilizing its temperature during extraction. It has dial controls compared to the touch control in other models.
It’s pre-infusion system stops the ground coffee from being struck at full force by the brewing pressure. But with a cheaper price, comes fewer features as you’d expect. You do need to take control of most of the steps of the brewing and frothing process. There isn’t a lot of automation here.

Breville Dual Boiler Espresso Machine – Best for a Crowd
Do you want to make lots of great coffees without waiting for your machine to reach temperature in between brewing and steaming milk ? The Breville Dual Boiler Espresso Coffee Machine is probably the best fit for you. It has both a steam boiler and an espresso boiler in the single unit (which is why it’s called a “dual boiler”), allowing the simultaneous generation of espresso and steam automatically.
With the addition of an extra boiler, the price of this model is high – over $2,500 (similar in price to the Breville Oracle Touch which is the fully automatic offering). However, if you love to entertain and love to serve your family and friends cafe quality coffee at home, then this is an investment you might be happy to make.

The Breville Oracle Touch Has The Largest Capacity
Aside from the great tasting coffee that these coffee machines yield because of its innovative and automated features, these units also have massive water capacities. The Oracle Espresso Coffee Machine has the water tank that has the largest capacity out of the four coffee makers. It can accommodate up to 2 litres of water compared to the other three which can only accommodate up to more or less 1.8 litres.
Breville Has Nailed It With Stylish Design
Another remarkable thing about these coffee makers is their sleek and clean design. All of the four units have a chic and sophisticated silver finish plus a minimalist design that makes these machines simple and at the same time aesthetically sophisticated. They can totally make any kitchen look a little classier.
However these machines are a bit huge and heavy to transfer from one place to another. Their sizes disable you to easily find a corner or a space where you can stash these coffee makers in. If you plan on purchasing any of the four Breville coffee machines, you need to consider the size of your counter top or your space.
Breville Coffee Machine Price Comparison
What we love about each of these machines is their clean, sleek and stylish design. They will easily fit into any kitchen decor and have superb features that are not present in most coffee makers. However, compared to other brands, their prices are reasonably expensive. Bear in mind, you do get what you pay for and so if you’re looking to invest in a machine that will last, look no further than Breville.
Out of the four coffee makers, the Dual Boiler and Oracle Touch Espresso Coffee Machine are the most costly – both are usually priced over $2,500.
If you don’t have the budget for that level of investment, the cheapest Breville coffee machine you can opt for is the Duo Temp Pro Espresso Coffee Machine (under $500). Or for a few hundred dollars more, the Barista Express Espresso Machine (around $700).
Breville Has a Great Support Team
The Breville coffee machines are generally made of stainless steel and seem to be robust and sturdy according to customer reviews. Given the price points, it makes sense that these coffee machines should be built to stand the test of time.
Breville offers a minimum 12 months warranty (on the cheaper models) and a fairly good 2 year warranty for the higher priced Oracle and Dual Boiler models (see their country specific terms and conditions for your area). Breville customer service is consistently rated well, so if your coffee machine does have an issue, you shouldn’t have any worry getting help. Remember to register your product so it’s easy to keep track of your warranty period.
In some countries and for some models, Breville offers their customers a white glove service. A trained professional will come to your home (or connect with you online) to teach you how to use your investment perfectly. Check your local Breville website for details of the offer in your country.
And the winner is…
All in all, the four Breville coffee machines are all great choices. In fact, I recommend all of the four coffee machines to you.
However, if I was to just choose one, my personal recommendation to you is the Breville Oracle Touch Espresso Coffee Machine. Not only does it have the largest water capacity, enabling you to pump out great espressos for your guests, it’s also totally automatic.
Yes it’s the most expensive of the four coffee makers but you will no doubt recoup your investment over time given the features packed into this coffee maker. Realistically, you’ll never have to go out to a coffee shop again.
I personally love the option to use either pre-ground coffee or coffee beans. The built-in stainless steel conical grinder gives you control over the grind coarseness – important if you like to try different coffee bean types.
The other winning feature is its versatility. You can use it to produce creamy lattes and delicious cappuccinos simply with the pannarello milk frothing wand, or simple Americanos with either a single or double shot.
Lastly, Breville has packaged the machine up with all the must have accessories like a Mini Grinds Bin, 58mm Full Stainless Steel Portafilter, 1 and 2 cup Single Wall Filter Baskets, 16oz Stainless Steel Milk Jug, Steam Wand Spare Parts, Cleaning Kit, Water Hardness Test Strip, Water Filter Holder and Water Filter.
There is No Bad Choice with a Breville Coffee Machine
Yes its true – you can make a great espresso with many machines. Even a filtered coffee maker can suit your need for caffeine. But if you love getting into the intricacies of good coffee making, or enjoy testing your barista skills, or even if you just want a great coffee made for you, this range of machines from Breville has an option to suit you.
You won’t be disappointed whichever of these 4 machines you choose. If you’re time poor, or just don’t enjoy thinking about each aspect of the brewing or frothing process, then treat yourself to the Oracle. If you’re on a budget, then the Duo Temp or Barista Express are great options. If you need to justify your higher priced purchase, do the calculations on the price of a daily fix or 2 from a coffee shop – over the course of a year that really adds up and covers the initial investment in even the priciest of machines.
Our Final Word on Breville Coffee Machines
The Breville coffee machines are some of the best coffee machines on the market. Although at the top end, they are a bit pricey, they all provide great tasting coffee and make the coffee making experience a joy. These machines are great gifts for family members, friends or anyone who really loves coffee. If you’re now working from home more than you used to, perhaps its time to invest in a quality Breville Coffee Machine and stop denying yourself a daily caffeinated treat.
