The main factor that I consider when buying coffee machines is, of course, quality and I got that when I bought this Andrew James coffee maker for the entire family. It’s robust and doesn’t look or feel like it’s going to easily break. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing to look at because of its nifty and posh design.
I was further impressed with its high tech features. It has a programmable timer which allows me to register the time when I want the machine to start brewing my coffee, which is really advantageous for me since I want to have my caffeine fix pronto in the morning and I’m the type of person who doesn’t really have the patience to wait long for my coffee to brew. Another reason why I like this coffee maker is that it’s perfect for the huge family that I belong to, all the members of which are coffee drinkers. Its massive 1.8-litre carafe can make up to 15 cups of coffee, making us have two to three cups each without having to brew another jug.
It Keeps My Coffee Hot
Keeping the coffee hot and delicious for a long period of time is also not an issue with this coffee maker. It has a non-stick warming plate and ‘keep warm’ function that works together to keep the coffee steaming hot for hours. By the time I get back from my morning jog to have another cup of coffee, I still get the same hot cup of the delicious liquid that I made hours ago. I also don’t have to feel the struggle of measuring the water that I need in making my coffee since this coffee maker comes with a handy translucent water level mark, making it easy for me to measure the right amount of water needed for a single brew. I know for a fact that you will also love its anti-drip valve as much as I do because this feature prevents any leakages and mess on your worktop. The filter is also super easy to clean because it’s removable and washable.
Some Tiny Drawbacks of This Coffee Machine
I just wish to have read some tips beforehand prior to using this unit because the first jug of coffee that this unit made tasted a little bit like burnt plastic. However, I really love this coffee maker to bits and I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a high quality coffee maker.
Some users ask me that they are not sure how much ground coffee should they put in the filter?
I understand it could be a bit confusing for the first time user as the coffee machine doesn’t come with a recommended amount of how much coffee should be used. The rule of thumb is you can always start off with 1 scoop per cup of water. Depending on your taste, you can add or reduce the amount the coffee in your next brew. Do not reuse the ground coffee because they will give you the worst coffee ever.
Another frequently asked question from the users is that where can we get a replacement jug?
Try to contact the Customer Services at Andrew James. Unfortunately they don’t sell replacement part on the website so you probably can’t order online. But you can try calling them up and ask for it.
This machine really exceeded my expectations. I got the qualities I was looking for in a coffee maker plus so much more. Before having a go at making your first coffee, be sure to use it in heating some water with salt first. This can prohibit the taste of burnt plastic from mixing with your coffee. Do this 2-3 times.
